MCP server · Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf

Your CRM, inside your AI assistant.

The Inleads MCP server connects your pipeline to the assistant you already talk to all day. Ask Claude which deals went quiet, have ChatGPT summarise an account, or create tasks from Cursor — without opening another tab.

01 · What is MCP?

A standard plug for AI assistants.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools the way USB lets devices connect to a computer. Inleads runs an MCP server for your workspace: your assistant asks in plain language, the server translates that into secure CRM actions, and the answer comes back in the same conversation.

  • No copy-pasting between your CRM and your assistant — data flows through a secure, permissioned connection.
  • Works with any MCP-compatible client: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Windsurf today.
  • The assistant only sees what your workspace role allows it to see.
  • Pairs with the AI copilot built into Inleads itself — same data, two front doors.
Example conversation
You
Which deals in my pipeline have had no activity in the last 7 days?
Assistant
Four deals have gone quiet. The two largest are in your Negotiation stage. Want me to create follow-up tasks for their owners?
You
Yes — and draft a check-in email for the biggest one.
Assistant
Done. Four tasks created, and a draft email is saved on the deal for your review.
02 · What you can do

Full CRM access, in plain language.

Everything below works from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Windsurf — whichever assistant your team already uses.

Read leads, deals & tasks

Pull any lead, deal, contact, or task into the conversation. "Show me open deals closing this month" returns a live answer from your pipeline.

Create & update records

Add a lead from a call transcript, move a deal to the next stage, or log a note — with write scope enabled, the assistant does the data entry for you.

Search your workspace

Ask for "SaaS leads from LinkedIn we haven't touched this week" and get a filtered list — no query builder, no saved views.

Pipeline summaries

Get a morning digest of pipeline health, stage-by-stage totals, and what changed overnight — then dig deeper with follow-up questions.

Follow-ups & tasks

Turn a conversation into action: create tasks, set reminders, and assign follow-ups to teammates without leaving your assistant.

Build on top

In Cursor or Windsurf, wire CRM context into your own agents and scripts. The MCP server sits alongside the same API that powers our 40+ integrations.

03 · Setup

Connected in three steps.

No middleware, no sync jobs. If you can paste an API key, you can set this up.

01

Install the MCP server

Add the Inleads MCP server to your assistant's MCP configuration — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Windsurf each take a one-time entry in their settings.

02

Authenticate with your API key

Generate a key in Inleads settings and choose its scope: read-only for safe browsing, or read-write to let the assistant create and update records.

03

Start asking

That's it. Ask about leads, deals, and tasks in plain language — your assistant now works with live CRM data.

04 · Security

Access you control, end to end.

Connecting an AI assistant to your CRM should not mean handing over the keys. Here is exactly how access works.

Inherits workspace permissions

The assistant can only see and touch what the key's owner can. Role-based access in Inleads applies to every MCP request.

Revocable at any time

Revoke an API key in settings and the connection is dead immediately — no support ticket, no waiting period.

No training on your data

Your CRM data is your data. It is never used to train AI models — not by Inleads, and not through the MCP connection.

Read vs write scopes

Keys are scoped: read-only keys can never modify a record. Grant write access only when — and to whom — you want it.

Encrypted throughout

TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest, and SOC 2 Type II in progress — the same protections that cover the rest of your Inleads workspace.

Auditable activity

Changes made through MCP show up in your activity history like any other update, so you always know what changed and when.

05 · Who it's for

Built for teams that live in their assistant.

If part of your day already happens in Claude, ChatGPT, or an AI-first editor, the MCP server removes the gap between thinking and updating the CRM.

  • Founders who want a pipeline answer mid-conversation, not after a tab hunt.
  • Sales reps who draft outreach in their assistant and want notes and tasks logged automatically.
  • Developers using Cursor or Windsurf who want CRM context inside their agents and internal tools.
  • Ops teams who prefer asking questions over building reports — with sales analytics a prompt away.
  • Works alongside the built-in AI copilot — AI built into your CRM, plus AI wherever else you work.
  • Pairs with workflow automation: the assistant reads and writes, your workflows react.
  • One of 40+ ways to connect Inleads to your stack.

Talk to the team
What is MCP? +
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to outside tools and data. The Inleads MCP server implements it for your CRM, so an assistant like Claude can read and update your Inleads workspace on your behalf.
Which AI assistants are supported? +
Any MCP-compatible client works. Today that includes Claude (desktop and web), ChatGPT, Cursor, and Windsurf, with more clients adopting the standard over time.
Is my data safe? +
Yes. The connection inherits your workspace permissions, access is revocable at any time from settings, and your CRM data is never used to train AI models. Data is encrypted with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, and SOC 2 Type II is in progress.
Can the assistant change my CRM data? +
Only if you grant write scope. API keys support read-only and read-write scopes, so you can start with a read-only key and upgrade to writes once you trust the workflow.
What plan do I need? +
The MCP server is included with your Inleads account. Start with the 30-day free trial — no credit card required — generate an API key, and connect your assistant in minutes.
Do I need to be technical to set it up? +
No. Setup is three steps: add the Inleads MCP server to your assistant, paste your API key, and start asking questions. Most people are done in under five minutes.
